Introducing the newest version of our awesome 2-roller Pro series Monster Mill, the MM2-Pro SL. This is an upgrade to our already awesome MM-2Pro mill that adds helical slotted rollers. The base version comes with our standard 1/2" drive shaft with three flats. Optionally we will offer a pulley drive version as well. The pulley drive option adds a 3/4" diameter, 3.5" long drive shaft with a key way. The larger pulley drive shaft also includes a machined 5/8" hex at the very end so that you can drive the mill with a mating socket, and your drill until you acquire a motor and drive system. We also offer an optional keyed 1/2" shaft for gear motor/coupler applications. The pulley drive option also adds a thicker drive side frame that includes a USA made sealed roller bearing to handle the side loads generated by the belt tension in a pulley drive setup. All the great features of the 2Pro but with helical slotted rollers, a FIRST in the home brew mill market.
All 2Pro slotted roller mills come standard with heat treated Rollers for 10X the life of our standard steel. The MM-2Pro SL consists of a 6061 aluminum block frame with two 6" long, and 2" diameter steel rollers riding on SAE 841 oil impregnated bronze bushings, and a sealed USA made roller bearing on the drive shaft. We use a superior grade of heat treated 1144 steel that is much much harder than what is found on any comparable products and should last almost ten times as as long as our standard steel. The standard 1/2" drive shaft, and all the axles are integral to the roller rather than screwed into the ends. This makes it fine to drive the mill clockwise, or counter-clockwise. All the axles are 3/8", with minimal freeplay in the bushings. The pulley drive option adds a much larger 3/4" drive shaft with a key way. The larger 2" diameter slotted rollers allow a finer crush with more minimal husk damage, and milling at smaller gap settings without worry of skipping. This mill also comes with a much larger gap adjustment range of .160", more than double our standard range that should allow you to mill other larger grains,
One of the knurled steel rollers is driven by a 1/2" drive shaft with three flats, or a keyway. Optionally it can be driven with a pulley (not included) with 3/4" bore and standard 3/16" key way to feed the grain through the adjustable gap and crush the grist. Make sure you have at least a 1 hp electric motor at 1725 rpm or slower, and the required 10:1 speed reduction pulley set to drive this mill, we can't be responsible for motor death! : ) Both ends of the non-driven roller ride in bushings that are offset mounted in an adjustable knob. The billet knob is held in a fixed position by a black oxide bolt you can loosen to adjust the mill. This system provides an adjustment range of .160". Our new design knobs are milled from solid 6061 aluminum barstock for excellent durability. The flange has two semi-circular slots that allow you to attach the knob positively to the face of the aluminum frame. They have 12 sides for a positive grip. You need to purchase our base and hopper (guaranteed to save you way more than $45 of your time and materials) or fabricate your own to feed the grist through the mill. The mill can be mounted above or below the base and attached using the included mounting bolts.
There is ONE material option available for the slotted 2" roller mills. They only come standard with our 1144 steel rollers that have been heat treated/hardened. The regular 1144 alloy rollers are heat treated to approximately 51-54 Rockwell C hardness. This roller material has survived through more than 200,000 lbs of grist in commercial applications. Plain steel mills kept indoors, and used regularly won't have rust issues. Non climate controlled areas, or minimal usage could see some corrosion come up that is easily removed with a wire brush. We recommend this mill with our HEAT TREATED slotted steel rollers for all COMMERCIAL applications.
The PD version of this mill can not ship via Priority Mail International Flat rate. If you select this as your shipping option, we will require additional payment for non-flat rate shipping.
